Life Is Not Worth Living Movies
I first decided I could leave movies when I wanted to and not feel obligated in any way long ago.
Short list... Clockwork Orange, Brazil, Chinatown... probably some others.
If I feel like I'm being abused, I leave. It's my life, I don't have to sit there and let some director/writer throw crap at me.
I never told people about this until one of our sales engineers told me he walked out on a movie (this would have been 1974, 75 or 76)... said he didn't have to let "Life Is Not Worth Living" movies mess with him.
He said there had been a whole swath of them. We had a qood discussion... and I was glad to know I wasn't alone.
I have since gotten much better at spotting these movies before I actually pay to watch them.
Part of my "You Are What You Eat" philosophy.
